Principle Safety Assessor

This role is a permanent staff position working for Amec based at the Birchwood offices in Warrington, Cheshire.

Working as part of the Safety Team the principle safety assessor will be required to develop and deliver cost effective consultancy and advice in the development of Safety Cases for major UK Licensees

Key Responsibilities:

1. Act as a technical lead in the production and verification of Safety Case documentation in line with client requirements and methodologies and modern safety case standards 2. Liase with clients and/or regulators to resolve technical issues associated with the development of Safety Arguements 3. Support the Team Leader in building client relationships, identifying future opportunities and prospects and recommending solutions to clients. 4. Act as a source of advice for other members in the team in building safety arguements and developing Safety Cases for projects and tenders/proposals. 5. Project management of the Safety Team''s consultancy projects and acting as the Technical Lead for Safety in larger company projects.

Essential Quals

Degree qualified in science, engineering or maths 1. Radiological Safety Analysis 2. Probabilistic / Deterministic Risk Analysis 3. Hazard identification / Hazop 4. Plant modifications 5. Safety Case Management

Desirable Quals

MSC/PhD in disciplines such as Safety, Reliability or Risk 1. Consultancy experience 2. Business Development 3. Decommissioning Safety Cases 4. Mentoring and developing staff 5. Hazop Chair 6. Safety Case Implementation

Experience

Minimum of 10 years in safety case development 2. Experience of working for/with major UK Licensees and knowledge of the Safety Case methodologies of at least one major UK Licensee 3. Sound and demonstrable understanding of modern safety case methodologies.
