Description
Our client are a leading consultancy in the water & environmental sector and are looking to strengthen their geotechnical team in Chester.
Key duties will include the succesful candidate to undertake and manage geotechnical desk studies; undertake geotechnical design of schemes, projects could include one or more of the following:
Conduct field visits in connection with ground investigations, specification and management control of ground investigation contracts
Liaison with project teams in UK regional offices and the USA as well as other global locations
Qualifications:
Minimum - Civil Engineering degree (MEng)
Working towards chartership with a relevant Institution
Desirable - MEng/MSc Soil Mechanics, Geotechnical Engineering, Foundation Engineering
Chartered with a relevant Institution
Experience and Skills
Competent in the specification, supervision and interpretation of ground investigations
Experience of foundation design, retaining wall design, slope stability analyses, settlement analyses and groundwater control.
Working knowledge of geotechnical databases and soil/structure interaction, slope stability and seepage packages (such as gINT, WALLAP, REWARD, SLOPE/W, FLOWPATH and SEEP/W)

Strong degree of self motivation and enjoy working in a challenging but friendly environment.
Ability to relate well to others within the team, as well as to interface with clients or other multi-disciplinary teams
Demonstrate good attention to detail.
Prepared to develop the skills of others and support the wider goals of the organisation.

Minimum Qualification: Bachelors Degree Hons or equivalent
