Description
Business Manager (Coastal) This is an exciting opportunity for a Business Manager to join a developing and expanding part of a main contractor Civils business. Ports, harbours and coastal projects are very much in demand and experience of this type of work could benefit career development. Based out of the Chorley, Lancashire office there will be some travel involved to coastal and maritime projects around the UK. This is a growing area of the business and a buoyant market, with many future opportunities for the right candidate. Good knowledge of and track record in marine construction. Responsible for the delivery of projects and commercial success of the region. Proactively promote HSQE and CSR at both site and office level. Ensure all operations are planned and executed in accordance with the BMS. Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with customers and employees. Have a strong relationship with sub-contractors and suppliers. Proven track record of cost control and programme delivery
Sound understanding of industry forms of contract and contract legislation. Take on role of Bid Manager with regards to tendering future projects. Candidates should ideally be knowledgeable on HSQE and CSR and contractual matters; have a solid civil engineering track record with a main contractor; experience of project management and management of client interface and preferably have some Coastal and/or maritime market experience. Involvement in ICE and/or CECA is also beneficial. Preferably be Degree or Chartered.
